Let me tell the world that i am computer illiterate. Do not know much about computers and different techniques. But the codes, snippets and syntax provided by Wikidot.com are very simple and impressive.

With the passage of time I have created few attractive webs… Thank you wikidot.. hats off to you. My all the webs can be seen here…. www.my21webs.wikidot.com but i think the best 1 are www.the99.wikidot.com www.thetattoos.wikidot.com www.hatsoff.wikidot.com which is infact a tribute to wikidot.com and Adsense program.

Thank you for the word about Wikidot Promote initiative. I have just created promote.wikidot.com. When I will have some time, I'll make a structure of this Wiki. If you guys will have some ideas about it, just tell me or — what will be simpler — edit this wiki. I invited David, maki and Helmuti. I think it should be enough for the promote.wikidot.com team. If you have any suggestions about the member, who should be invited, tell me.

Later, I will make some banners, buttons etc. Now I have to find out why we're blocked by digg and The Great Wall of China :)

There are many imagemap programs. I haven't used any in a long time, but you can find something by googling imagemap freeware.

Actually I forgot to add that one of the reasons I was thinking for a separate site for all this, was that I wished an official representative of Wikidot would be the admin of such a site.

I think squark would be the guy to talk to. You might PM him with your idea.

They have the final say here as well, as wikidot has admin here at the community forum.

If promote.wikidot.com gets started up, it would be helpful to the site's visibility to have a link or page somewhere at wikidot.com. And you could maintain the page here, but with links pointing to the new domain instead of other pages here.

A user may have in mind a way for spreading Wikidot which could actually hurt its image. This is why I made the http://community.wikidot.com/start-links page, where users are invited only to suggest places in the virtual world where Wikidot should be mentioned. The mentioning itself is left to Wikidot so that they have full control over what is being said about them, even with the best of intentions.

I would be glad to know if Michal is interested in starting promote.wikidot.com (or whatever).

As for how the marketing of Wikidot should be carried out, I am optimistic about this inititative, even though I realise it cannot cover all things. Take spreadfirefox.com for instance, if anything, it doesn't hurt the fox. :) You never know when someone may come up with a brilliant idea or the most beautiful banner on earth.

The picture, agh, I have no idea how I can make it "step" into the left column so that it doesn't elongate the page?

I can remember , some times ago I used a jpg and gif software to "hide" appropriate links behind the right positions in such image.
( it was "mapdesignerpro" with an easy technic to put links in little areas…)

What we try here ( and I understandd your page in this manner) is to collect ideas and technics how this can be done from "foreign" users..

As I tried 4 times to create a wikipedia entry about wikidot - without success :( .
With a long fight with their admins…
What we need is a book or a public presentation , not coming from wikidot team or members…

Even a radio - interview is not enough of the needed "public interests" for this…
