haaaa, that was the catch!!! :) Good, I thought I was going crazy….

Well, I would like to use them, but I really would like to understand first what is exacly that they do… And I can do that only by seeing the result of them. Explanations, no matter how good they are, do not work with me …. :( I am to thick to understand about informatics unless I actually see the result….)

Hi Brunhilda!

No, it is the change last night for the new "live"_templates!

Therefore the "starting" underscore is now an important "wikidot-language" switch , used to detect categories / templates connected for this "living" usage of tenmplates:

Template pages would be a type of a "special page" (name starts with an underscore) within categories. Examples of template definition pages would be:

_template
category:_template
bugs:_template
proposals:_template

That is the reason , why "over night" all categories ( and pages ) starting with underscores are working different…

If you want , you can now build "real" templates, which defines the layout of your pages ( in one category connected to this template) on a "living" status - means youo change teh templazte and all pages of this category using this template are changed too.

You're right. But… I removed underscores and now everything is ok. But what I find amazing is that it worked for almost two months. If you see the history, you'll see that I put those modules there on March 10th…. How's this possible?????

If your categories do not include the underscores, they should not be included in the category names. I assumed you actually had all your pages start with an underscore, but now I see that it is just the category names on your list all pages page. Just remove the underscores from all of them (except _default because it actually has an underscore in its name). I amazed that this used to actually work.

but of course I want to use them! that is why I made them. i think that notthing is wrong with pages themself, but with the module, since the pages still exist, nothing is wrotn with them, but this module ([[module Pages preview="true" category="_the category prefix"]]) does not recognize those categories any more… besides, it is not only the categories I made, but also the system categories as well. The only category that is still recognized by this module, is default… click on the lat tab and you'll see….

Now, I shall show you that all the pages still exist…

Due to permissions and language issues, I cant figure too much out, but pages that start with and underscore "_" are special, and thus you might not want to use them. The changes described at http://www.wikidot.com/doc:templates mention this, and they are used more now, so that change might have broke all your stuff. I don't know what to recommend to do now.

Look here! I haven't touched anything on this page, and all my categories dissapeared from this page!!!! As a matter of fact, last edit day was 24 days ago! Today at 5pm everything was ok (the hour of my last change at the site)… What on Earth have happened here?????
