It seems that since Wikidot changed the policy and does not take 20% of adsense reventue, Google doesn't want to accept any site that seems to be subdomain (and all out sites are, since all of them have wikidot.com in the name).

I know it's a long time since this was posted but I've only just come across it.

The reason the site has two URLs is that it used to exist wholly on www.barefoot.info. Given that it largely depended on reader contributions, which I was having trouble keeping up with, it occurred to me that it would be well suited to a wiki format. Then, last October, I discovered wikidot, and www.capnbarefoot.info was created. The idea is that one part of the site should be editable and one part not, and the two should fit seamlessly together.

Thank you, Brunhilda, for your kind comments of 5 November …

BTW, the site seems to be quite popular and now has not far off 200 members. The one thing I haven't got working properly is adsense. Try as I might, it only works on some Wikidot pages but not others - although it was fine on the old non-wiki site, and still works perfectly on barefoot.info. But that's for another forum.

I can't answer philosoph…..fill o'soff…..phill o'chett…..difficult…. questions like that. Better ask Pieter who knows a thing or two about about starting new sites.

"filosoficle"… IMO the Wikidot version is more recent, last updates yesterday, so it looks like a migration in progress.

heheh, Don't worry, it was rather rhetorical question… I was just wondering why one would do such thing, since it is completely senseless to me… :D

Hm, I did notice something strange… But then what is the point of it???? If the guy already has a site, why bother to open a new one at Wikidot and then merge those two?

Hm, how come it has two urls?

Probably because they are two different sites. They share the same header but if you compare the two you will see they are not the same. If you got to the first one via the wikidot toolbar as a guess it might have something to do with 301 redirects (?).
