Email Invitation -- Circular Problem

01. Ok, I just started setting up this site a couple hours ago, so there is probably a lot I don't know, but I've accomplished the equivalent set up using quite a few other wikis and other content management systems, so I'm not an entire newbie.

02. I have one member, me, ksh58_admin.

03. I sent one invitation to join to tcorbet. That email was received and had the content as shown in the "how to' text of the admin:manage page for "invite new members via email". The link to accept the invitation, however, returns me to a page that says:

Hi, khs68_admin'"

which is the name of the invitor, not the name of the invitee. So, if click to accept, as you would expect, the code finds that that member already exists!

04. Where do I find, debug, fix the template pages that are involved in this transaction. There was not even a place where I could make a user error — the code just must be picking up the wrong variables to insert in the html page.

05. Otherwise, your site seems very clean, well-designed, well thought out.

Problem uploading buddy icon

That's not the source, that's exactly how it's displayed. What's the problem? (Nowhere says what the requirements for the icon are. Mine is a non-animated .gif, 38 X 39 pixels.)

After I provide the correct userid and password, the progress bar runs forever, and the login form is not dismissed. If I wait for a while and just close the current tab, then when I open a new tab and navigate to my site, lo and behold, I'm already logged in.

I started to have this problem about three days ago. I tested with Firefox 2 and IE 7 with the same results.

I can still login, but having to close the current tab, and then open another is frustrating. Please help.

I share a computer and I set my login to bind to my IP. Now I can't log out and my friend (who is also a wikidot user) can't log in 'cause I'm "stuck" in. I can't see any option to log out!

How to remove profile info?

A member of our site has entered a birth date in their profile, and now wishes to remove it.

Unfortunately, entering anything except a valid date seems to be ignored. The best I can do is change the date to something incorrect.

Same problem for the "website" field: once I enter a URL there, I can't remove it, I can only change it to a non-existent site.

It would be really nice if it were possible to remove the information from a field.

Account has been opened properly - i can reach my account pippowiki, but when browsing to the pippowiki.wikidot.com site the system says The site does not exist. I am using firefox 2.0, java enabled. What am i doing wrong? I have to excuse myself for this maybe silly question, but I have not found any solution in the community board. Someone can help me? Thanks in advance pippo

Is there any way to get the members module to retrieve not the members/moderators/admins (I'm actually trying for admins and mods) of another wiki? I have a second wiki for the purpose of a private forum for staff and wish in a mod control panel I have created to list ' who can see it' but they are exceptions to the privacy. Could I get it to retrieve who are mods and admins from my first? If not, how to display the link with avatar of chosen members, so I can update it?

Error Logging in w/ Custom Domain

I get the following error when I login on the custom domain:

 The page at http://www.wikidot.com says:Error processing the request. You have no valid security token which is required to prevent identity theft. Please enable cookies in your browser if you have this option disabled and reload the page.

I have cookies enabled, the check boxes "Do not time out" and "Bind to my IP" both do nothing to change this behavior. I have attempted deleting the existing cookies to see if they had gotten corrupted, nothing changes the behavior. I am unsure if this problem is limited to just myself or the entire Wiki.

Anything obvious that I'm missing?

Creating foreign accounts

It seems that I have a lot of computer-disabled people in my group. These guys are not able to create their own accounts mainly for the reason that they close the window before getting the secret code e-mail (I have to admit that this part of the procedure is not user friendly) Can you suggest me a method to overcome this problem ? do I have a way to create these accounts by myself as an administrator?

User Groups

Hi all!

I was wondering if there is a way to have user groups that are only able to read or edit part of the wiki or view/post in certain forum categories. I'd like to design a private site for my neighborhod home owner association so that only people in the neighborhood can be members. I'd also like to make it so that each committee has it's own private section for discussion or references. For example I'd like to have the architectural committee to be able to have their own place to discuss applications out of the neighborhood "public" eye.

applying procedure

The “applying to membership” procedure is not clear for me:

Does the fact of applying gives automatic membership (after automatic mail verification process) or the administrator have to grant access to applying user? It is easy to test but I can’t take the risk of an automatic membership. Thanks in advance.

Ever since I went to "my account" (Heaven only knows what I did there), I've been getting this constant request to login to my wikidot account—even after I'm logged in.

Is anyone else having this problem? Is there a way to repair this?

verification email trouble

A subset of the users that I am trying to get on my private site are not receiving the verification email. (3 out of 23)

One either switched emails or tried again latter and was able to receive it. I'm contacting him for more details on what he did. I'll post more when I know more. But there is a problem.

I have created a user account and joined the wiki site www.iaac-readings.wikidot.com

I can log into the wikidot site without a problem, but when i try to move over to the wiki site it won't let me edit anything. I try to log in, and looks like everything is happening properly, but the login screen dissapears and i am still not loged into the site to allow editing.
The administrator of the wiki assures me that i have the correct level of access to the site as well

please help

I'm citizen of Poland and my name is Michał Mikołajczyk. I have letter " ł ( Ł )" in my name and surname. I have used letter "ł" when I registred on Wikidot.com. However, on your website aren't polish letters, so letter "ł" has changed to "B". And now my name is MichaB MikoBajczyk.

Could you be so kind and change letter "ł" to letter "l ( l (L)". I want to be call Michal Mikolajczyk. I hope, you can do it for me. Thnak you in advence.
