I haven't been to wikidot in a while, but I have two wikis set up, and when I attempt to access either of them, no matter what page I visit I am immediately thrown into an infinite loop. When I disable javascript, I am able to access the site, but this prevents me from performing any administrative tasks (because of the javascript based menus), and enabling it again throws me into an infinite redirect loop. Any help is appreciated!

Hi,

we have a wiki for our programs: Childsplay/Schoolsplay (schoolsplay.wikidot.com)
It's basically a framework for games for children with different activities.
See http://schoolsplay.wikidot.com/website:childsplay for an overview of the activities in English.
Nice thing is that it is translated in several languages.

Now I made a Python script that writes for each activity the translations to a text file.
I still have to upload it in other languages to Wikidot (English is there already, I did that manually)
Is there any way of uploading it automatically?

The pages all have the same structure (that's in my generated file), they all have the same screenshot (each language references that of the English activity page).
Only the page name would change: childsplay-memory-nl for the Dutch page of childsplay-memory.
But I still need to make the pages and copy the text file in it.
Doing that manually will take me several hours, each time the texts of the activity change!
So manual is no option in the long run…

Is there a way in Wikidot to do this?
Otherwise I was thinking of doing this via Selenium (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Selenium_(software))

Hi, I took a look at the help docs for permissions, but it is not clear to me how to properly set up permissions for comments.

For example, I have set up a blog via the how to here http://community.wikidot.com/howto:create-a-blog

I have an include category that uses the comments module. Currently, only I have permissions to add comments, and I would like to change that. If I go to the admin tool I see the blog category, but I do not want to give permissions to edit the blog category. I just want to enable someone to add a comment. Can someone explain how I should go about that?

Here's a blog page I created for reference: http://zenoconsulting.wikidot.com/blog:2

Thanks in advance,
Davis

I have a question for those who are using the new blogging features. What would you recommend for the best way to setup a new site for blogging (taking advantage of the cool changes to the ListPages and PageCalendar modules)? Which Wikidot theme do you like best for a starting point? (I like Bloo, but recall some issues with that theme.) I'm looking for a basic starting point with just a couple of pages, nice navigation pages, etc. If you could provide examples or point me to some existing layouts you like, I'd appreciate it.

The reason I'm asking is that I'm very close to making an ISO image available that is basically "Wikidot In A Box". It's based on the current open source version and I'd like to add a blogging template in addition to the default English template. You'll be able to install it easily on your own hardware or in a virtual machine and can run it on your home network, on single PC with VirtualBox or even open it up to the rest of the world if your ISP allows it.

Thanks in advance!

-Ed

Several potential members of my site [Downs Folk] have found difficulty in registering. None of them seem able to say exactly what goes wrong other than that they find it confusing or that when they put in the password that I have posted on the join page, they get an error message. As far as I can see, I have the code all o.k. however I can't see what the join page looks like or test it because when I go there it tells me that I'm already a member.

Is there a way to see how this page would look to a new member and perhaps test its functionality?

Hope that makes sense - thanks in advance for any help anyone can give.
roger

Hi friends!

I understand the criteria used by the [[module Members]] to sort the names. The list is sorted chronologically from the oldest Wikidot's membership registration date. However, in my opinion that is not logical. It would more correct if the names were sorted by the registration on the wiki site date or alphabetically.

I saw a forum thread about this here, but without any conclusions. So, there are any way to display the members list alphabetically or by registration date on our particular wiki site?

Hi all, my website provides access to over 800 images uploaded at low res. and watermarked for protection. I usually have no problems accessing the images via the online galleries page from my office PCs, similarily, those accessing the images from the outside also have no problems.

That said, a lady contacted me to say she could not see the images from her browser i.e. she was presented with an error mark where the images should be. She has a Mac and wonders if it is a problem specific to her system. One of my colleagues has a Mac also but has no problems viewing said images. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Stacey
