My AdSense account is been banned for invalid clicks (I see that I'm not alone).

Have you any valid alternative, wikidot compatible, to suggest?

I must notice that my site have problem with Google ads (Istorijska biblioteka). Google put us on ''black list'' without explanation and after few months of normal running.

I have heard this happen to a number of people. The only thing you can really do is contact Google for a reason and then see if there is a possible resolution. Fortunately Google are not the only ad providers.

Thank you Helmuti. After reviewing the information about Google ads available here I came to the same conclusion. However I suspect there may be a way to allow site members to embed their own Google ad code into a page.

I am not sure, but I think the google adsense need an "adsense account" from ONE responsiible person on his "own Site" ..nit sure if this model would work.

is this permitted under the TOS?

I cannot answer directly to this question - I am not using anymore the google adsense ( I have still an account) - even I have a pro account on wikidot

I am planning to set up a Pro account which will allow members to create pages. I would like to be able to reward members for creating content by allowing them to place one google ad on each of their pages. My question is, is this possible and secondly is this permitted under the TOS?

I have a prolite account so it doesn't effect me, but I do think that Wikidot should put less obtrusive adverts at the top otf the page. A banner would be much better.

If you have a free account then you will have no control over this, it needs a minimum of a Pro-Lite account to control adsense.

When i visit http://ngoglobaal.wikidot.com, as a visitor, i mean not logged in on my wikidot account, there is an adsense publicity block from Google on top of the web-pages , i contacted google adsense to ask how to eliminate that publicity block on my web-pages, becaŭse visitors have to scroll down to see the content of my pages, but they answered it is placed by wikidot so i would have to ask wikidot to eliminate it or at least to place it at the bottom of my pages…

Flattr is a project started by Peter Sunde and Linus Olsson. Users are able to pay a small amount every month (minimum 2 euros) and then click Flattr buttons on sites to share out the money they paid in among those sites, kind of like an Internet tip jar. (The word "flattr" is used as a verb, to indicate payments through the Flattr system - so when a user clicks a Flattr button and they are logged in to the Flattr site, they are said to be "flattring" the page they are on.) Sunde said, "We want to encourage people to share money as well as content.

Hi,

I think many people reading in this area are familiar with the social payment service Flattr. When will Wikidot allow the embedding of flattr buttons? Many content providers on the Wikidot hosting platform could benefit from that feature!

The money you can make depends very much on the subject matter. I have had sites in the past which were very poor at turning visitors into dollars (on an earning per thousand basis). My current site is much better, with payments per click much higher. However at one click through per 150 page views or so, it takes a hell of a lot of visitors before you can give up the day job.

I was just wondering, what if this happened to Wikidot? The income from all of those free sites must be quite significant.

I should also mention that I am using AdSense - and I use text-only ads with the intention of them blending in with the content.

Using image-based ads, you'd probably get a few more clicks because it stands out so much.

It's very low. I have a site that consistently gets about 800-900 visits per day … and I usually get less than 10 clicks per month.

However, that is probably because I encourage visitors to sign up as members, and when they're logged in they don't see the advertisements.
