Have you invited some members over Mail ?

What do you mean with "help" ?

creating a "living" wiki - than you need "members" or allow normal registered wikidot users to create and edit pages…

help in sense of "layouting" your wiki for visitors? I think this is not really neccessary - your wiki is fine and enough structured for visitors.

Invite not-members to create layouting strucutres too ? ( why not ? panic ? )

I cannot help - I have no idea what your wiki is about… :)

But I wish you good luck!

Welcome to wikidot. You'll get lots of help here as you develop your wiki so don't be afraid to ask. But a couple of things: you need to edit your post above because the links to booneradio are trying to go to example.com. You've not yet developed your wiki beyond the default text (understandable as you've only just joined) so for the time being it might be worth putting a link to the booneradio page on the front page of your wiki. If you do it in the format [*http://www.booneradio.com] it will open in a new window.

At the risk of straying into politics, here in Scotland which is also an oil-producing nation we are paying nearly $9 a gallon at the pumps compared to the US average of about $3.50. So my reaction last night when I heard John McCain say the same as you are saying was not entirely supportive. But a worldwide push to lower oil prices - and particularly here the tax on fuel - and to develop cheaper alternatives is definitely a good thing so I hope your wiki is successful.
Rob

Hi ppl,

My name is Anne, and I've just set up my wikidot site yesterday after an idea struck me to come up with an open website for people to come in and offer their firsthand shopping experiences.

My aim is to create a site to offer honest consumer advice, so that whenever someone wants to buy an item, e.g. a bicycle or a dress, even a travel package, as long as it's a product or service, he/she will wanna come to Shoppingpedia for some references first.

I personally believe that consumer is king, and people should be able to have easy access to information to help them make their money worth, and not be bled dry by misleading information from marketing ploys and certain advertisments out there.

At present, I've just started this website, and there's LOTS of room of improvement and things to think about, e.g. I'm trying to think about how to categorize all the items, the web layout, etc. I just made my first trial entry at http://shoppingpedia.wikidot.com/blusher giving my personal tips on buying a blusher, just to see how the info will look on the site.

However, I just thought what the heck, just open the site, let you guys know what's my mission, and get help from everybody. After all, I guess that's the whole Wiki concept.

So pls come on in, offer some personal advice, be it tips on selecting oranges, or how to spot a good artwork as an investment, let your imagination run wild and be a shopping guru on Shoppingpedia. This is OUR project.

Cheers,
Anne

While this may not be everyone's cup of tea, I thought I'd announce it anyway. :)

The TAK-40 Wiki contains technical data and information regarding an amateur radio transceiver that was entered in the ARRL's Homebrew Challenge. What made it a challenge is that all entries had to follow certain rules.

Homebrew challenge rules, and how the TAK-40 met them:

The station must include a transmitter and receiver that can operate on the CW and voice segments of 40

meters.
The TAK-40 covers 7.0 to 7.3 MHz.

It must meet all FCC regulations for spectral purity.

All spurious emissions from the TAK-40 are at least 43 dB below the mean power of fundamental emission.

It must have a power output of at least 5 W PEP.

The TAK-40 generates at least 5 watts PEP for voice and CW modes. The ALC can be set as high as 7 watts.

It must operate from either 120 V ac mains or a 13.8 V dc power supply.

The TAK-40 operates on a 13.8 VDC supply and draws less than 0.2A during receive and less than 3A during transmit.

It can be constructed using ordinary hand tools.

Construction of the TAK-40 uses all leaded components and assembly only requires hand tools, soldering iron, and an electric drill (helpful but not strictly necessary).

It must be capable of operation on both voice and CW.

The TAK-40 operates lower and upper sideband (USB and LSB) as well as CW. USB was included to allow the TAK-40 to easily operate in digital modes like PSK-31.

Parts must be readily available either from local retailers or by mail order. No "flea market specials" allowed.

The TAK-40 is constructed from materials available from Digikey, Mouser, Jameco and Amidon.

Any test equipment other than a multimeter or radio receiver must either be constructed as part of the project or purchased as part of the budget.

The TAK-40 only requires a multimeter for construction, extensive built-in setup functions are included in the software including a frequency counter to align the oscillators and a programmable voltage source for controlling the oscillators.

Equipment need only operate on a single band, 40 meters. Multiband operation is acceptable and encouraged.

The TAK-40 operates on the 40 meter band.

Frequency control can be by VFO or crystal control. Some method of variable tuning is encouraged. If crystal controlled, only a single crystal must be included in the $50.

The TAK-40 has dual VFO’s with memory functions including VFO to Memory and Swap VFO and Memory. Each VFO has it’s own memory and the current VFO setting is retained during power off.

The total cost of all parts, except for power supply, mic, key, headphones or speaker, and usual supplies such as wire, nuts and bolts, tape, antenna, solder or glue must be less than $50.

The total parts required to built the TAK-40 is $49.50

I'm actually starting to get a little proud of my work at fortunz.com. It doesn't really have the potential or traffic that WiiHD does, but in terms of appearance, I think I've done a better job with it. A lot of the tweaks I've made to WiiHD lately have been imported from fortunz.com as well. Truth be told, the modifications I've made from the Wikidot-provided Shiny theme are pretty small, but my chest still swells when I look at it.

The blog is just what the title says it is, a contests blog. For now, it's pretty heavily tilted towards gadgets and software and games, because it started out as a contests section on WiiHD, my Wii gaming blog. In time though, it will broaden to cover contests of every kind.

I aim to keep coverage limited to contests that are simple and easy to join, especially smaller blog contests. Over the past couple of years, the number of contests being run by small blogs has exploded, and the odds of winning are dramatically higher than most contests you find on the internet. Some of these blogs only have 500-1000 readers, and frequently only end up with around 200-500 entries into the contest. Just this week, I won a 2gb USB drive/pen in one such contest. Not a huge prize, but then it only took a couple of seconds to enter too.

A few months ago, at a larger blog that has odds of 1 in 250 to 1 in a 1000 (depending on the prize), I managed to get a free copy of GTAIV. Not something I would have bought for myself, but nice to have for free. Compared to contests at major media sites, these odds are pretty sweet.

A long time ago, I set up some Google Search RSS feeds so I could quickly find such contests, just for my own personal use. Then I slowly added on more and more feeds. Once I realized how many unique and hard-to-find contests I was coming across, it was hard not to blog them.
