Which measure are you taking and what will it help you accomplish? By laying that out, you may help another user along the way. Are you renaming your older profiles?

(nevertheless I would find it good to have that possibility.. just to give free a name and probably eliminate some dead stuff)

You want to delete accounts so you can make new ones with the email addresses you had used with the old ones? Did I understand that correctly?

What is it about the old accounts that won't work as sample accounts for your current purposes?

If it's the names, you can rename them (My Account -> My Profile -> Change My Screen Name). If it's the permissions levels of those accounts at a particular site you're writing a manual for, you can change that as well. If it's something else, post here, and perhaps we can help you achieve what you're after. There is no automated way that I'm aware of deleting a user profile, but that doesn't mean you can't accomplish what you're after.

two years later, same question again: can I delete my account? (I mean really delete it..)
while creating a wiki for a group, I was testing some functions with different users (and member levels). now as I want to publish the site and write a manual for the prospecting users I cannot create any sample accounts anymore, because I have already used all my email-addresses.. so.. can I delete my old accounts?

Lets forget the ToS for a moment… for testing purposes you need another email to implement a "second" user-account for such "pseudo user".

I am having a problem attempting to log in to one of the Wikidot sites. It is not hosted at a custom domain, it's on the normal name.wikidot.com template. When I access the site at first, it is fine, but when I attempt to log in, I get the following error message:

"Not authorized. This is a private site with access restricted to its members."

I can log in to the main wikidot website no problem and I have even attempted to make two different accounts to access this specific wikidot site, but both of them give me the same problem.

I have talked to one of the wikidot administators, who has verifed that he has not gone over the member limit, but has not seen my member registration e-mail. He assumed it was recieved by someone else and was accepted. Is there some sort of a problem with this or just really bad luck? Thanks

Today we've upgraded the authenticating system on Wikidot. This enhances the security level and fixes some bugs that appeared when using Internet Explorer and wikis on custom domains (i.e. not in the .wikidot.com domain).

From now on, you shouldn't ever log in to Wikidot from URL other than https://www.wikidot.com/auth:login…

We believe this will improve users' sense of security.

1. This was an Internet Explorer ( Microsoft!) problem. The team is working hard to build an intermediate solution for IE users( the custom domain setttings - using with Internet explorer..). There could be a fix this monday…

BUT: on Firefox the private sites with "system:join" are NOT working for wikidot registered members (anonymous can see the page! ) this needs a solution of course very soon…

2. I hope now you use IE …

3.I have the same error on my test sites - in Firefox (!), NOT in IE 7 (!) , if i remove my test-id from membership ( not the admin of curse) I get the blank eror message page with the "strange" duplicated URL

I have read all over for a fix… but what ever i do and what ever i change
the text "Not authorized. This is a private site with access restricted to its members." is displayed when enabling private site…

A totally blank page with just that text…..

It was a bug with a strange (internal) URL build… but this should work now..

Even stranger: I can see the site when I'm not logged in, but when I log in it sends me to the "Not Authorized" page.
