Wikidot features: A lot's are used:

  • Integration of widgets (for example the Facebook Page widget on the Facebook page within Webkompetenz or the Google FriendConnect widget on the FriendConnect page
  • Customized view of my Twitter tweets on the Tweets page, using the way I described on the snippets site
  • Using YouTube videos in Wikidot tabs, for example in this blog posting (very useful if you want to present a video which is divided into several parts)
  • Embedding of other media like Slideshare (in this blog posting) or MP3 podcasts (in this blog posting)
  • More hidden features: for example what there is listed below the heading "Links" on the sidebar, is a generated list, coming from a FriendFeed RSS source where I sample my Delicious links and shared articles from my Google Reader.

This website is a very good example on how to handle external links, pdf links, excel links (with small icons indicating link behaviour).
