It's been over two years since the original Calendars app developed by the Wikidot community was released, and a lot has changed since then on Wikidot. So, I've taken some of the new features on Wikidot to create one very simple and easy to install calendar app. I present you:
» simpleCal «
The simplest, easiest to use and most beautiful native Wikidot calendar app yet!
simpleCal comes in four variants: mini, wide, full and agenda. Here is a preview of the four different layouts:
Agenda Layout a list of events |
Mini Layout miniture calendar, fitting into 200 x 200px |
Wide Layout miniture calendar with list of events on the right |
Full Layout full-sized calendar with toggle event list |
Features
- zero-config includes (for current month)
- CSS3 transitions
- hovertips indicating time ago and time till event
- one-click event creation
- the AMAZING popup event list! (click on a date to see what I mean!)

How simple is it?
It's really simple. It has only one pre-installation step, and that is auto-numbering of categories. All you have to do is set the cal category as auto-numbered and you're ready to embed the calendars onto your Wikidot site!
Have a read of the installation guide. It's literally two steps.
Acknowledgements
Just wanted to say thanks to James Kanjo for helping out with this project, especially with his handy bug-finding skills — ironing out many bugs before my release :D Without him, some insanely awesome features would not have existed - such as the event popup list!

Thanks Kenneth, and James - well done!
Question:
As we copied on the original http://calendars.wikidot.com/ .. ?
Edit: the popup of the day-evvents is shifted by one day back..?
Edit2: if we want to use our "adding" buttons of members than we can use our old calendars:_template with "adding" new members/answers by hanging to the event with "parenting" or with "tagging" by their _long tag or cal:### number ?

Thanks Helmuti!
Both features you've requested are planned and will be implemented in the future. There are some hurdles that have to be overcome *first*, however, once I've got them figured them out — I can churn out different formats to use.
In terms of the shifting dates, it sounds like a CSS issue. What browser are you using and which page are you seeing this problem in?
Also, you can manipulate the cal category however you like with one condition. You can not create any non-hidden tags. This will break certain features like the popup and ago/till hovers.
Edit: You can now report bugs, request features and have discussions over at the simpleCal forum. :D

Thanks for Information, Kenneth!
Yes, the shifted popup shows the wrong DATE ( 19.Novemb… but/and the "20". is bold!) . This is working on FF (15.0.1)
And the Condition with the non-hidding tags is clear fo rme… but not really important
I had a look on your big date tables and it looks like a big work ( even with programming support)..
Wow!
