Please give any suggestion on can any external database be used within wikidot site?
Yes, Zoho Creator is a web-based database which can be embedded in your wiki page. It one of the range of Zoho products which you can embed. I have done snippets on Zoho Show which is a powerpoint-like presentation application, and Zoho Sheet which is a spreadsheet. There are other applications as well and Zoho Creator is the database application.
Once you have created your application in Zoho Creator you embed in your wiki page in an iframe with the following syntax:
What is good is that once you have set up the database you can add, edit and delete the data from within the wiki without having to go back to the zoho site.
Here is a quick and basic database of Scottish town populations that I have done and it uses the iframe code above. You should be able to change the data (please do, nothing depends on it). During the weekend I will add a snippet giving step by step instructions.

So am I Shane. It could be that in future the work on forms will be sufficiently developed to become similar to a lite CMS which would open up some possibilities.
