Databases and Data Forms On Wikidot Posted by Helmuti_pdorf on 12 Jul 2010 06:08 Last edited on 19 Jul 2010 16:47 I created (as a showcase ) a little database using the new data-forms technic on our Community-playground - site with 2 tables: database-db3-country. database-db4-town to demonstrate the new possibilities now - using the help:autonumbering-of-pages feature for unique "primary keys per row's of the 2 categories (" db3country:", " db4town:"); db3country:_template]] for showing and creating records over prepared newpage modules in the country table - using data-forms db4town:_template]] for showing and creating records in the town table using data-forms " the pagepath concept" for both table-records to have "outer join" links in the pages/records one to each other. Every visitor is invited to test , create new entries and evaluate the Database! I got the idea from Phil Chett's blog about his thinking over a better "block" or "module" system for a "Front" page. Please - have a look on the codes of our new "front" page and it's used home:_template ! That's true. I have dreamed about improving the handbook.wikidot.com by using the live templates, instead of using [[include]]. The dream could come to reality if the wikidot developer team could provide me with the missing puzzle piece. The module Pages was used with a preview that let display an annoying "Back to the guestbook". It is fixed, now.
